A Young Man Receives A DUI Arrest And Decides To Hire A "Driving Under The Influence" Attorney

Although Franklin wasn't a lawyer, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a DWI, represented himself in the local court, paid twenty-five hundred dollars in fines and penalties, and served 30 days in the city jail. As he mentioned to his son, after he got out of jail, he found out from an attorney friend that if he would have hired a DWI lawyer in the first place, he probably would have had his penalties and fines considerably reduced and he might have never served any time in the local city jail.

When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more facts about DUIs and so he asked his dad for more information about what a "drunk driving" lawyer can do in a "drunk driving" arrest. His dad then stated the following: "Getting arrested for DWI can elicit feelings of embarrassment, fear, anger, and depression. People from all walks of life have been arrested for DUI. Remember that the more control you take over in your life now, including educating yourself about current DUI laws, the greater peace of mind you will probably experience after your DWI. Since you are in a vulnerable position, you need to consult with a DUI attorney you can trust and who will 'fight' for your legal rights."

When Lawrence listened to his dad explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the importance of hiring a DUI attorney. Near the end of their discussion, Lawrence mentioned that he was beginning to grasp the relevance of DUI laws and what "drunk driving" attorneys" can do for a person who has received a DUI arrest.

After getting "schooled" about DUI arrests, the role of "driving under the influence" lawyers, and understanding that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence decided that he would definitely hire a "driving under the influence" attorney to represent him in court. Something else, however, took place after he had talked to his dad. Lawrence at last started to comprehend the critical nature of "drunk driving" arrests and, as a consequence, he made up his mind that from this point forward, he would always drink responsibly so that he would never again have to experience another DWI arrest.

His dad smiled at Lawrence and mentioned the following: "son, it took me until I was fifty years old to realize what you just told me. I am really proud of you." This did wonders for his self esteem and so Lawrence thanked his father and then said, "if I can always drink responsibly, I will never need to hire a drunk driving attorney again!"

There was, however, one thing that neither Lawrence nor his dad thought about, namely, if Lawrence is manifesting any alcohol abuse signs or maybe if he is displaying any of the routine signs of alcoholism. In all honesty, if Lawrence is displaying any alcohol signs that point to alcohol dependency or alcohol abuse, he may need alcohol rehab.

In all honesty, Lawrence may be required by the court to get rehabilitation for his excessive and hazardous drinking. The positive news, conversely, is that whatever it takes to face his careless and excessive drinking, it seems like Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
